Meet Amanda
“My approach is simple — listen, assess and tailor each treatment to the individual.”
I first completed my Diploma of Remedial Massage in 1994 and began working alongside Dr Vu at Devonport Acupuncture that same year. More than 30 years later, I'm still here — although my knowledge, training and approach have continued to evolve.
In 2026, I completed an updated Diploma of Remedial Massage, bringing my original training together with contemporary remedial massage practice. I've also undertaken further education in dry needling, Low-Level Laser Therapy (LLLT), and fire and vacuum cupping.
Working alongside Dr Vu for more than three decades has strongly influenced the way I approach treatment. I've developed an appreciation for looking at the whole person rather than simply focusing on one area of discomfort. I consider your history, movement, posture and soft-tissue presentation and tailor each treatment accordingly.
I'm a current member of ATMS and AMT and continue to undertake professional development to build on both my experience and contemporary treatment knowledge.

Services I Provide
My treatments are tailored to you, taking into consideration how you are feeling, how you move, and what you would like to achieve from your treatment.
Depending on your individual needs, your session may incorporate a combination of the following techniques.
Fire & Vacuum Cupping
Traditional fire cups and modern vacuum cups may be incorporated into your remedial treatment as a soft tissue technique.
My approach to cupping has been influenced by my training and experience working alongside Dr Vu, while cupping within my treatments is provided within my remedial massage scope of practice rather than as acupuncture or Traditional Chinese Medicine treatment.
Dry Needling
Dry needling involves the careful insertion of fine, sterile single-use needles into selected muscles and soft tissues. It may be incorporated into a remedial massage treatment where appropriate and with your consent.
Dry needling is provided within my remedial massage scope of practice and is separate from acupuncture and Traditional Chinese Medicine.
Remedial Massage & Fascial Techniques
A targeted, hands-on approach using a range of soft tissue techniques. Treatment is adapted to your individual presentation and may focus on areas of muscular tension, discomfort, restricted movement or general recovery.
More targeted hands-on techniques may be used to work with the muscles, fascia and surrounding soft tissues. These techniques can be incorporated into treatment according to your presentation, comfort and treatment goals.
LLLT
Low-level laser therapy uses a cold 3B near infra-red light and may be used as an adjunct to your remedial treatment when appropriate. Treatment is non-invasive and is selected according to your individual presentation.
